Primary Objective: Conduct reservoir engineering field studies, create asset development budgets and plans, and complete economic appraisals for exploration and production activities. Specifically looking for experience in East Texas and North Louisiana unconventional gas but will consider experience in other unconventional gas plays.
Main Responsibilities/Job Duties:
Assess reserves and evaluate economics to support drilling and completion activities, development plans, exploration prospects, workovers, and exploitation projects
Provide technical support for division operations to assist in reservoir management activities such as improving production, reducing costs and improving margins.
Complete reservoir engineering analysis including reserves calculations from classical reservoir engineering techniques such as material balance, decline curves, and formation evaluation.
Keep informed of technical advances and apply these as appropriate to improve processes, operations, and margins
Support regulatory compliance, hearing support, and obtain permits as needed.
Work with others to promote teamwork, communication, and sharing of ideas to improve work performance in the E&P group.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering from four-year college or university
Professional Engineering Registration is not required, but is recommended
Experience and competencies:
Specialty Technical Software experience with Nodal analysis, Pressure Transient and or Simulation a plus.
10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
High level of Proficiency with Aries for Windows, Excel, and the standard
Office Product Suite required. Knowledge of other products such as Geographix, Petra a plus
Good writing and oral communication skills.
Fundamental Skills - Understanding of petroleum reservoir rocks, fluids, flow mechanisms, economics, equipment, data retrieval and analysis, measurement techniques, computer use, and ability to assign quantities to unknown variables is required.
